Getting Back On The Move!

Hello old friends.  It is time we get "movin on" again, don't you think?

I have been away from my blog spot for a long while now.  There have been many twists and turns along the way.  It seems like we are always moving on and we have a lot to get caught up on so if you will bear with me I will take this back a bit and try to get you caught up.  It may be a bit slow to bring you up to date and who knows if I will actually even do that but there are a lot of stories to tell and testimonies to share.  Perhaps some of the battles we have concurred may help spare you from going thru the same thing.  Together we can fight the good fight of faith and concur!  We can be made overcomers together.  So with that being said please stop back by and we can take a little time to get caught up.

TTFN!  Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

God Bless!  See You Soon!

Hold On A Little Loner, Help Is On The Way!

Ever wonder what another is dealing with in their life or are you too caught up in your own. Jesus is there for all of us and he cares. Do you ever take time to pray with someone else? Do yo...u stop and have a conversation with someone just because? If all you give is a hello and a hand shake don't consider yourself being a blessing or even a super spiritual person...someone may need more than that. You can get a hello from a walmart greeter! Or a hand shake from a funeral director. Be a friend to someone who may need you. It could be an elderly lady who has no one at home to talk to. It could be a young person who is wondering what the true meaning to life is and is it really worth living. It could be someone who looks like they have it all together. Don't knock someone down. Pick them up. If they are not as high up as you feel you are...try talking to them long enough to see if you can help lift them up. Be more like Christ. He took time for that person in need. Be more of a friend than you have been in the past. Don't just wonder why they don't smile, take time to find out and try to make a difference as Christ did. Maybe you are new to church and you don't feel like you measure up to someone who has been in church for 30 years. Guess what, they get down and discouraged too. Trust me, I know. I was wounded in the house of my friends...and it has been hard to try to recover but little by little I am getting back on the mend. Many of you know we used to work with youth...we have for YEARS...Circumstances beyond our control happened causing us to stop that ministry. Sadly, It has taken me almost 11 months to get up the courage to even pray with a young person. I stepped out on faith while visiting a different church and that was the hardest thing I have done building up the courage to simply pray with a teen who had no idea what I had faced and the hurt. Dont' read more into this than there is...just know there are hurting people out there...some are lost and some are just facing battles...lets help each other...lets all pull together. Living for God is about helping a brother or sister in need...not pushing them down so far they can't see up! You just may be able to make a difference in someone's life, if you really want to. Give it a try! I dare ya!

The Ants Go Marching One By One...Hurrah! Hurrah!

"Girls, it's time to pick out you clothes for church tonight!"  So we start gathering our things to prepare for showers then we move on to picking out our outfits.   Due to lack of closet space in the camper we have some clothes stored in wardrobe boxes outside, in our screened in room. Momma decides to pick something out for ELE first.   So she opens the box and reaches in to pull out a blouse.   As she lifts it up, she sees giant red ants everywhere.  She drops it in unbelief at how many ants covered the blouse.   As she looks back into the box only to see more...an unbelievable amount more, HME runs to the golf cart to get the ant spray.   Returning she begins to help momma as they brave this massacre together.   Momma trying to be brave but HME sees momma is not so strong in the battle at this point, as tears begin to fill mommas eyes.  HME says, "momma we got this".  This gives Momma the strength to press on a little farther.

Taking one garment at a time, shaking it as ants begin falling everywhere.  Stomping on them while trying to avoid being bit.   The inside of the box looked like the end of season gathering for the ant family....every brother, sister, cousin and neighbor must have been in attendance at this unforgetful event.  The main gathering was yet to be seen.  Its was as if there was a convention in town that day, Only to end for them in such tragedy.  Not even one ant was left to tell of this memorable gathering, a day forgotten in history for them....but to never be forgotten by us.

A day, an event, a moment in time can be life changing and end so differently for all parties involved.  What may seem as a victory for some may crush and defeat others.  The enemy may come in like a flood but as children of the most high God we have the tools, the weapons, the necessary equipment not only to fight the battle, but to come out victoriously!  I am  reminded of the children of Israel. Just at the brink of a miracle they would enter into the promise land.  Who would have ever dreamed that was going to be there way in.  They enemy came in like a flood, but yet they pressed forward.   We're they scared?  Of course.  Did they think there was no escape, no way out?   You better believe it.   Just in time the waters parted and they crossed, then the enemy was destroyed!   It pays to endure until the very end.  Even when it appears that the ants are over taking and someone could be in danger, press on, smash every ant that comes your way.  The ant spray was not working for momma that day.  She had to end up killing each ant individually as we may have to do in our spiritual battle.  In the end you can come out victorious just as the Children of Israel did and just as momma did.

Deuteronomy 31:6 KJV

Be strong and of a good courage , fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Parenting 101....Could I Teach It? Never!

Have I lived it? You better believe it!

For the past 16 years, 340 days I have lived it…than I guess we can add on the 9 months before preparing for the journey I was about to embark on! With all journeys in life we have many twists and turns, ups and down, good days and bad days, we learn from our mistakes and as I am doing today...we take pride in our accomplishments! When my kids mess up, I am the first to punish them. When they do good...they deserve praise as well. I have two daughters but today is about Haley!  It’s not her birthday or any special day. It’s a Saturday and I have chosen to praise my gal today! I AM SO PROUD OF HER. We need to give honor where honor is due so here goes.

We have lived a lot of places in life. It has been tough for her as a preachers kid and military brat. Since she was born she has lived in 7 different cities/states. So you can do the math on the law of average. She has had to make new friends and start over more than the average bear and that can be tough. About the time she has found her fit…we have to move on. Well, it isn’t always easy to do that. If you have moved once and experienced how tough it is well multiply that by 7 and see how it might be. She has done great however and “excelled” in the area of making friends. She has learned that she has to try harder as most people already have their group of friends and don’t let outsiders in. She has learned to make it work. If she was timid and quiet, that would never work for her. We have taught her she has to be as outgoing as possible, which often times she gets blamed for being “forward”. We have taught her that sometimes you just have to overlook others who have never been in your shoes and just press on.

She is often as a gem that just sparkles in the rough. I have seen the joy she has shared to a young mother in need…who had no friends, who was unaccepted by other so called Christian youth, putting herself at risk of being shunned by the “Youth Group”. I have watched as she has made herself available, an ear to listen, to the homeless from the Mission, even though they may have reeked from not bathing for days. I have watched her as she walks down the streets inviting children to children’s church, of every race and color.

Recently, she experienced something she has never had to deal with before, but I have told her GOD IS IN COMPLETE CONTROL AND THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!! The storms began to blow when a battle began raging in her life, she pressed on in and got thru!!!

I am so thankful life put this battle(obstacle) in her path. Most of all i am proud that she found herself an alter and pressed thru the battle until she was filled with the Holy Ghost as we read about in the book of Acts. Because of this battle she has more power to help reach the lost and more of a Holy Boldness than ever before! Though battles may still rage at times, she can be like Moses.  He pressed on thru the red sea and God took care of the rest!

I am very proud of her and could write a book, but for now I will just sit back, smile and be thankful! We are excited to see how much this little gem will be worth someday. To her momma she is allready priceless! I am so thankful for the Blessing He bestows on us! I love my Haley Marie!!! You make your momma proud! If you are proud of your daughter take a moment and tell her...its ok to tell all of us too!!!

As Long As There Are Tests In School, There Will Be Prayer

Often times I think of that one lady who put all her efforts into getting prayer out of schools.   Funny thing to me is that her efforts were truly in vain.  She forgot one big thing.  In order to remove prayer she would have also had to remove tests, I am sure as long as there are test being given there will be students whispering a prayer.

That old saying, you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl, well that same concept applies to a Christians and Prayer.  There will always be times when a need arises and a true Child of God will call on him for help, that is just the way it is.  Without fail, God will be there to answer that prayer as well.   It may not always be the answer we are seeking for but it is His answer.  When we ask for something, we have to be prepared for any possible answer.   Rest assured the answer you get will be the perfect answer to your prayer.  We have to learn to accept it...that's all.

We find in the King James Version of the Bible prayer is referred to 500 times.  Here are just a few verses for you to enjoy.

In James 5:15-16 we read that ... "the prayer of faith shall save the sick , and the Lord shall raise him up ; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.  Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed .   The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Keep Me Safe Till The Storm Passes By

Last night one of those unexpected storms blew in.  The girls and I were in all snuggled in my big old bed feeling nice and warm and secure when it began.  The thunder rolled, lightning flashes were big and bright, and then from out of nowhere there was a sound, like a mighty rushing wind.  It was getting closer and closer...kinda sounded like a train rushing around the house.  I looked out and couldn't see anything.  Haley was tossing and turning, Erin was sleeping like a baby, and  I of course was wide awake…making sure we were all safe and sound.  I looked on my cell phone weather bug and there were no warnings or alerts, it just showed rain.  I laid there for a few wondering if I should wake the kids out of a sweet sleep to move them to the basement.

Those of you, who know me, know by now that I put a spiritual spin on everything, trying to apply it to life.  So with that being said, this storm outside made me think about our duties as a Christian.  If we are awake in our Christian walk and others may be sleeping or perhaps just dozing off a bit, do we stand by and watch them as the storms begin to consume their life?  Do we let the rain soak them or offer them an umbrella?   When the winds begin to blow do we let it over take them blowing them farther and farther away or do we offer them shelter, a place to come in out of the winds and rain?  When we hit treacherous times, tornado stage....do we take cover only for ourselves or do we warn them around us who may not know or even be aware of what’s going on around them because of any numerous things.  You may ask, "how could we not know there’s a storm coming?" Perhaps someone is working in a building with no windows so they don’t see any signs or even hear any sounds alerting them of any possible danger.  We have to warn others of the storms in life when we see the signs.  We have to tell other people who may not be strong enough in their own faith.  We have to help those who have a need.  We can’t wait until it they reach sudden destruction, and a possible time of no recovery.  Psalms 55:8 tells us “I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest” Sometimes even the strongest of Christians get weak and need the help of other believers.   So we have to help others when the time is at hand making a possible way of escape for them.   Isaiah 25:4 tells us ” For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.”

A childhood song is brought to mind, if we all pull together how happy we will be!  We have to help one another, lift up one another up.  I am thankful someone cared for me when I started my walk with the Lord.  I am even more thankful that there are still folks today who take the time to help when I may be feeling down.  We all need a friend at times and we all need to be a friend from time to time.

Psalms 107:29 tells us “He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still .” Needless to say the storm passed and we were safe. Thank God that someone’s prayers reached Heaven and we were safe through the night.

Pray all my readers can say the same thing.  If you know someone going thru a storm in their life today reach out to them.  Share the words from the Bible with them, pray for them and be a shoulder they can cry on.  You never know whose life you can touch!

Below is a link to a song I love...I am not sure who that singer is but listen to the words.  Till The Storm Passes By

If you are facing a storm in your life today know that Jesus cares, He loves you and He can bring your through!  Tell Him your concerns and he can help you get through this trial of your faith!  He can keep you safe till the storm passes by!

Press Toward The Mark!

Seems As If This Girl Is Always Movin On!

Looking back thru my rear view mirror there are many fun things to see. Perhaps over the course of time we will do just that!  Be sure to check often for current happenings and to see what has brought me to where I am today!  There have been tough times and encouraging times.  Through it all I have become a stronger individual and better person today!   Life is what you make it and you can make it a good life!  An automobile takes us places just as with life.  There is a reason when traveling that we go forward looking thru a large glass also known as our windshield.  It is there to protect us but also give us a larger view.  There is also a reason that our rearview mirror is so small.  It is there as a reminder us of things that are behind us but not to focus on it.  If we spend too much time looking back we will lose our sights on what's ahead!  Phillipians 3:13-14 says, "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. "  So with that being said... Just take a glance back and then continue to press forward!
